The first verse was written to be inspirational.
It talks about wars and how we should rid our world of wars and promote peace instead. Poetry can be a perfect escape from conflict and to share the best of us.
The terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11,2001 lead to a war. The greatest poets use their inspiration to work on pieces of art and search in their souls the best way to heal.
For the 10th anniversary I wrote this 911 Poem .
I think we all need to teach our children about the importance of peace from a very young age. This will help make our world a more peaceful place for many generations to come.
World Peace
When wars and conflicts totally cease,
In our world, there shall be peace.
People must learn to get along,
Not blame others, for being wrong.
They fight for control, fight for land,
Some just need a helping hand.
We must rid ourselves of vanity,
And embrace peace, through humanity.
Wars make children so much tougher,
Lose their innocence, while they suffer.
We should fight for peace instead,
Love not war, we should spread.

The next poem talks about having peace in our lives and what it means to us. I think every person in the world craves peace in their lives and being at peace with themselves internally.
In my opinion, in order to be at peace with oneself, we must know ourselves very well. Because if we don't know who we are, our lives could become chaotic and unstable.
Peace Is
Peace is something we all seek,
When we lack it, we feel weak.
Since it's rooted deep inside,
With our peace, we're closely tied.
Peace is something you can't buy,
You won't catch it from the sky.
Something about it is truly sublime,
It does not follow distance nor time.
Peace is something we mutually share,
For it is just, and always fair.
When we find it, peace is sweet,
It shall make our life complete.

That last line says it all. Peace will definitely help make our lives complete.
With peace comes joy and happiness and excitement, and many other positive emotions.
However, when we are not experiencing peace in our lives, the opposite negative emotions will often be present in our lives.
Here's a poem that talks about the importance of having peace in our local communities and nations. Without peace, everyday life could become very difficult and a constant struggle.
Community Peace
When there's harmony, there is peace,
Joy on earth does increase.
For peace to grow in your community,
The first step is social unity.
We all know that healthy relations,
Are the keys to peaceful nations.
War and conflicts, we must avoid,
So that beauty of life, may be enjoyed.
We just need to open our hearts,
That's where peace clearly starts.
It's not that difficult to embrace and find,

Just like the poem states, the first step for peace is the presence of social unity. People need to be unified in order to live peacefully together. We also need to have an open mind and place a lot of value on human life and all life in general.
I think we need to teach future generations about the value of human life and place that value on the highest moral levels. Maybe that would reduce the number of wars that people willingly support and participate in.
I know it's not as simple as I may have stated above. Many factors influence the outbreaks of wars, and we need to get to the root causes.
When writing these poems about peace, I was very motivated to write the next one. The reason is because it is one of the more positive poems in this section, and it talks about the many benefits of peace.
Peace Brings
Peace brings freedom that we crave,
From great stress, it shall save.
One main thing, it does assure,
We'll feel at ease and secure.
Peace brings friendliness and joy,
It is sacred, not a toy.
Rooted deeply in respect,
Justice something, must protect.
Peace brings us tranquility,
Along with much needed - stability.
Sense of quiet, and goodwill,

Many of us take peace for granted these days. I myself am guilty of this.
I know my grandparents appreciated peace, because they lived through the second world war. They witnessed many of their friends, relatives, and loved ones die during those horrible years.
I can't imagine how my grandparents felt when they found out that the war was finally over. It must have been the biggest relief. Even though they lost all their material possessions and physical wealth, they still managed to pick themselves up and prosper after the war. If that's not inspirational, than I don't know what is.
We may complain about the economy, but we still live in a safe society that contains many support systems. People during WWII had a much more restricted economy, and had to constantly fear for their lives.
Inner Peace
Inner peace; wish to attain,
Peace of mind, one shall gain.
Spiritually and Mentally,
Won't be achieved accidentally.
Conscious enlightenment, ultimate goal,
Living life to the fullest; being whole.
Knowledge shall help one understand,
That inner peace is truly grand.
The beauty of it, is the lack of stress,
Bliss and happiness, shall possess.
One must know, oneself quite well,
To attain a healthy, internal shell.

To dive a little bit deeper - a person needs to understand and accept the role he or she plays in society or the world. More importantly, one must feel "valuable" or an "important" member of the human race. Otherwise, there would be very little to live for. Hopefully, that first peace poem will remind children that peace can be achieved if the children themselves are kind and loving in their everyday lives. They should feel like they are contributing to peace in the world by living and acting peacefully themselves.
The next poem is intended to motive our young kids, and let them know that they can make a difference when it comes to peace. The first two stanzas let children know about the negative things that happen, due to wars.

Peace will make the world free,
Open our eyes, and help us see.
Wars and conflicts make people sad,
Hurting others is really bad.
Many kids live, through an awful war,
Their family ends up very poor.
During war, they often lose,

In the end, I think it's important that we get our kids talking about the sensitive subject of wars and peace. The more they get informed and educated about it when they are young, the better our world will be off when they become the decision makers in our societies in the near future.

That poem is meant to inspire. Even though it may seem like an huge goal, the poem states that peace on earth is within our reach. But it will only be possible if we all learn to be generous and loving people that constantly promote and spread love.
Because if you really think about it, most wars are started by a few very selfish, power hungry, individuals. Personally, I think we would be much better off as a human race if we just don't allow ourselves to be so easily convinced by our politicians that wars are necessary.
If we only stood up for what is true and just, we'd be much closer to bringing peace to our planet than ever before.

The above poem about peace makes an even closer connection between love and peace. The first two lines in the first stanza summarize the message of the poem quite well. Peace will never exist or last in the absence of love.
The poem may be referring to world peace. However, it may still apply to individual or inner peace, because a person will never achieve or reach inner peace without love in his or her heart. You must be able to love yourself, if you wish to gain inner peace. A prime example of someone that has accomplished this is - the Dalai Lama.
