Funny Family Poem

The first poem reminds us all how important family is in our lives.

Personally, I can't imagine how my life would be without family that I could depend on.

In addition, family members such as sisters, brothers, cousins and parents are great at offering free advice and their perspective on things.

Some of the categories that are coverd include, family reunions, loss of a family member, Christmas with the family, and even these sentimental Mother's Day Poems.

Most of these verses are meant to be sweet and inspirational, but you will find a few funny ones as well. Enjoy!

Poems About Family

Your Family

Your family are people, you can depend,
If you get in trouble, they shall defend.
They are the one's that understand,
Always willing to give you a hand.

Your family, you should always cherish,
Without them you would probably perish.
Your connection with them is very deep,
If something happens, together you weep.

You family can help, your confidence build,
With their love and support, you'll feel fulfilled.
Just don't forget to show your appreciation,
That will strengthen your relation.

by Martin Dejnicki

Family Bond

A family bond is really strong,

They'll accept you, if you're wrong.

Family is there for comfort and support,

Even love you, if you're short.

A family will bring laughter and joy,

Sometimes they just simply annoy.

But that's ok, since they care,

Many things with you, they'll share.

Life without family, wouldn't be the same,

It would be lonely, and definitely lame.

So make sure you thank, each family member,

For being there, from January to December.

by Martin Dejnicki

Family Creature

Family is truly a unique creature,

It can function as an effective teacher.

Each person involved, has plenty to learn,

Through words and actions, respect they may earn.

Sometimes arguments may get pretty loud,

That's because, they're all just so proud.

They better watch what they say,

Otherwise, they'll be lonely and grey.

This creature you should always feed,

You never know, when something you'll need.

The trick is to listen and sometimes talk,

Grab the creature, and go for a walk.

Poems for Family and Friends

Here's a couple poems for family and friends. The first one you may share with your family, while the second one with your friends.

Family Unique

Did you know that our family is unique?

At the dinner table, good luck if you speak.

I'm not saying they are bad,

On occasions they make me mad.

Maybe our family came from the zoo,

They really do, have more than one view.

I'm not here to lay the blame,

Seems like they're always playing a game.

Without them, life would be boring,

Silent nights, no more snoring.

What can I say, our family is unique,

I might need a break, just for a week.

by Martin Dejnicki

That poem reminds me of one of the more fun and opinionated families that I know. Not only are they always loud but they are also a very funny bunch of people that are down to earth and great to be around. I've known this family for many years and they have always made me feel very welcomed at their family gatherings and events. So if you have a quiet and very reserved family, then the above poem is probably not for you.

Friendship

Your friendship, I can always depend,

If I need advice, you recommend.

Thanks for the times, you listened to me,

When I need help, you quickly agree.

Friends like you are pretty rare,

With you there's nothing, I can't share.

We are surely a fantastic team,

Always believing in each other's dream.

I'm just trying to give my thanks,

Apologize for all those pranks.

Just by looking at our past,

Our friendship, will surely last.

by Martin Dejnicki

That was meant to be a thank you poem for a friend or a poem of appreciation. Sometimes, we need to remember that it's nice to thank our friends once in awhile for everything they do for us. Especially for being there for us.

My Family Poem

The next poem talks about ones family from a first person perspective.

My Family

My wonderful family, I love dearly,

From my heart, I speak sincerely.

They make me laugh all the time,

Help me up, when I need to climb.

I know my family, truly care,

They don't judge me or compare.

Always welcome me with open arms,

They make sure nothing harm's.

I love my family, every day,

With this poem, I wish to convey.

I know they may be a little strange,

But I hope they never, ever, change.

by Martin Dejnicki

That's a poem about family that you may share with your wonderful family to let them know how thankful you are for having them in your life. Personally, it reminds me the importance of family relationships in my life. Sure there's always ups and downs, but overall, life has the potential to be truly beautiful with a loving family.

Poems That Talk About Loving Your Family

If you love your family a lot, then these next few are for you. Share them with your father, mother, brother or sister. You may even share them with your extended family like your uncles, aunts, cousins, or grandparents. The choice is yours. I'm sure whoever you decide to share them with will be very touched.

Grateful

For my family, I'm more than grateful,

I've been blessed, it's truly fateful.

They always stood, right next to me,

Offered advice and help for free.

Love for my family, stems from my heart,

They taught me so much, right from the start.

Encouraged me to reach for the stars,

Helped me overcome, so many scars.

Without my family, I'd be completely lost,

Can't imagine, the emotional cost.

I just hope, I may repay,

By loving them back, with zero delay.

by Martin Dejnicki

I actually shared the following verse with my immediate family. In the second stanza, family problems are mentioned. That's just the reality of any family life. The key is to work together as a family to resolve any issues. This requires family unity and members should share the same or very similar family values.

Love My Family

I love my family with my heart and soul,

They make me happy, they make me whole.

We've shared special moments in time,

When I look back, it's truly sublime.

When difficult times suddenly came,

We stuck together, we didn't blame.

My family taught me, how to be brave,

When I was in need, they readily gave.

I love my family with my heart and soul,

They stood by me, when I had a goal.

I could only say the most beautiful things,

They help me fly, they gave me wings.

by Martin Dejnicki

The above poem about family may even be shared with soldiers serving overseas. So if you are a part of a military family and one of your parents, siblings, or children are currently serving in the army or marines, maybe that poem would be fitting?

Family Poems for Children

Here's a few for children. Do you have any kids or know any kids that you could share these poems with? I think it's very important to begin teaching our children about the importance of family at a very young age. Hope these poems help.

Family Fun

Your family loves you a great deal,

Super happy, they'll make you feel.

Your family is really fun to be around,

They'll joke around and make a funny sound.

With your family you could play,

Every single sunny day.

I'm sure they are, a lot of fun,

In the park, when you guys run.

Just remember, one more thing,

With your family, you could sing.

Oops, one more thing I must remind,

Love them dearly, and be kind.

by Martin Dejnicki

Just a Kid

Your family will forgive what you did,

That's because you're just a kid.

But even if you get much older,

Always welcome to cry on their shoulder.

Your family will help you become someone great,

Go on the ice, and teach you to skate.

Sure they will play with you in the pool,

Make your lunch and take you to school.

They are not just here to entertain,

Put on those bandages, when you're in pain.

Your family will help you look for bugs,

Don't forget to give them lots of hugs.

by Martin Dejnicki

Family Reunion Poems

Maybe you would like to read one of these family reunion poems at your next reunion?

Even though they're quite rare, I always enjoy attending or hosting family reunions. They bring back a lot of wonderful memories. Another thing I enjoy about reunions is the part where I get to learn about my family history via stories told by the senior members.

Crazy Show

A family reunion is a special occasion,

Initially may seem, like crazy invasion.

Catching up with family, is awfully nice,

Just be ready for lots of advice.

Once in a while it's great to see,

The complexity of your family tree.

Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins brand new,

So many characters, who would have knew?

New relationships could prosper and grow,

Let's get on with this crazy show.

You must be really, super excited,

Thank the internet, all were invited.

by Martin Dejnicki

Have you ever had the feeling of missing family members that you haven't seen in a long time? I experience that from time to time, and that usually motivates me to organize another family reunion.

Family Moments

Family Moments

A family reunion may stir many emotions,

Don't need to travel over the oceans.

If separated over plenty of time,

You are reading the correct rhyme.

Sometimes they'd enter your thoughts and mind,

Miss them dearly, knowing they're very kind.

You wait anxiously for the day you'll meet,

That special moment is always so sweet.

You may wish to share some flowers,

Eat some dinner and talk for hours,

You always hope that it will last,

While sharing stories from the past.

Christmas Poem for your Family

Here's a short Christmas poem for your family. I shared a very similar one a few years ago with my new family (in-laws) during the Christmas holidays. I remember clearly, it was right after church. Christmas always seems like a very spiritual time of the year for me because it's when everything slows down a lot and I get an opportunity to connect with my spiritual self a bit more.

Christmas Time

Christmas is one of the best times of the year,

Everyone is filled with happiness and cheer.

It's not about gifts or how much we spend,

But rather the love, that we mutually send.

Everywhere we see Christmas trees,

We go to church, and pray on our knees.

Give thanks to God, so that he may bless,

The entire family, and rid us of stress.

Christmas is a time for families to reflect,

A wonderful time for us to connect.

Enjoy the holidays, let's slow down,

Share some moments with the entire town.

Short Poem for Family

Here's a short poem that you may want to give to someone. As you can see, this is a acrostic poem about family. Acrostic meaning, the first letters on each line combine to form a vertical word. In this case it's "Thanks".

Appreciation

The most Wonderful family, genuinely admire,

Hearts of gold, you always inspire.

Always able to count on you guys,

Never let me down, and readily advise.

Kindly wish to show my appreciation,

Sweetest family in the nation.

Death in the Family Poems

Right now there are two death in the family poems that you may choose from. The first one may be shared with your family if there has been loss or someone recently deceased. While the second one may be given to another family that you know that is experiencing a loss and you would like to express your sympathy.

Family Mourns

Our family is mourning a loss that is deep,

Together we stand here, together we weep.

(name of deceased) was a person, unique and kind,

He/She will forever be on our mind.

We are saddened and angry, it's just not fair,

(name of deceased) had so much more, with the world to share.

For many years, together we'll grieve,

Why did he/she have to suddenly leave?

We all knew he/she had a beautiful heart,

Our special memories shall never depart.

It's important for us, our emotions release,

May (name of deceased) forever - Rest in Peace!

by Martin Dejnicki

You could place the following poem inside a card of condolences and give it to the family at the funeral or at the viewing. I think it's a nice way of letting them know that you are also grieving with them.

Sincerest Sympathy

Our sincerest sympathy we'd like to share,

Thinking of you and your family, in our prayer.

We can't imagine, the loss that you're feeling,

With so much pain and sorrow, you must be dealing.

Nothing could ever change or replace,

We understand, right now you need space.

Our hearts are also, mourning with you,

We feel so sad, we feel so blue.

We can't help with sorrow cry,

If you need anything, please don't be shy.

We know you're strong, we know you'll cope,

Our dearest condolences along with our hope.

Family Tree Poem

This family tree poem talks about the benefits of researching and working on your own family tree. Personally, I've always been curious about my roots. So I'm really glad I managed to get some information about my family tree from my Grandmother before she passed away.

Family Tree

Everyone is curious about their family tree,

How many Aunts? Was it one or three?

There's just so much you could find,

You were living in the blind.

It's certainly great to know your roots,

For the holidays, you'll find recruits.

It's just really nice to know,

What your genetic pool will show.

If your family is real small,

You may need to make a call,

Ask around and grow your tree,

With this knowledge, you'll be free.

Funny Family Poem

Here's a funny one that I recommend you share with your family right now (or wait till family day). It also contains a few metaphors.

What is Family?

What is family without a dog?

That's like our Mayor without a blog.

You don't need to watch what you say,

If you require help, you won't have to pay.

A family can sometimes be a disease,

Insane migraine that smells like cheese.

I never knew what's the big deal?

A bunch of people that eat the same meal.

In the end, it's not that bad,

As long as Mom is not always mad.

The trick is to laugh and take this lightly,

If you need salt, just ask politely.

by Martin Dejnicki

I hope you really enjoyed reading this collection of poems about family. Don't forget to share it with them, so that you may show them how important they are to you.
